Deliver positive youth development opportunities that are youth-centred; to engage, connect, inform young people - creating empowered agency and advocacy to transform their lives and be agents of change within their communities.

Our Story

Tauranga Youth Development Team (TYDT) is a not-for-profit organisation established in 2010 after it was identified there was significant need for coordinated and cohesive service provision within the youth development sector.

Operating for over a decade, we are essentially recognised as a convener collaborating and/or partnering with multi-agencies in the youth sector, to implement a range of positive youth development deliverables for young people between the ages of 12-24 in the Bay of Plenty region.

We develop, deliver and maintain innovative initiatives designed to support youth participation in:

Leadership & community engagement
Social justice & advocacy
Health & wellbeing activities
Sport, recreation & entertainment events
Education, training & employment
Arts & culture opportunities

CHAMPION THE IMPORTANCE OF RELATIONSHIPS, COLLABORATION, NETWORKING, INFORMATION AND RESOURCE SHARING AMONGST SERVICE PROVIDERS TO ACHIEVE BETTER OUTCOMES FOR YOUNG PEOPLE AND THE COMMUNITY
